Olatokunbo Ige

Olatokunbo Ige is an international human rights lawyer, peace and development expert turned social entrepreneur. Trained by the John Maxwell Team, she is also a certified trainer, coach, mentor and human behaviour consultant.

With 30 years of experience in the field of human rights, peace, security and disarmament in Africa, she recently retired from the United Nations and is now coordinator of The Livingstones Resource Center (TLRC ) an incubator, as well as principal trainer of TI Consulting her leadership training and consulting outfit based in Togo.

She has recently taken an interest in working on environmental issues, a passion that has become a career. Through TLRC, Tokunbo Ige leads several projects including the creation of an ecological centre known as ECOVILLAGE.

ECOVILLAGE is an eco-friendly hotel built with local materials where she brings to life her passion for healthy living as well as adding value to others by imparting eco-centric leadership, personal development and technical skills, especially to women and young people.

In 2019, she started UTRADER as a waste management and transformation centre that seeks to alleviate the problem of domestic waste management by transforming, for example, used plastics, tyres and barrels into quality products and goods. UTRADER is part of a process of changing mentality and attitudes in terms of recycling and waste disposal in Togo.

Tokunbo is a front-runner in developing partnerships across and among different sectors of society, especially in building bridges between governments, intergovernmental entities and civil society.

Her exposure over the years to African policy making and political leadership both at the national and regional levels has strengthened her socio-political judgment which she uses in initiating and sustaining partnerships with diverse constituents.
