Getting to know Carin, her background, her business now, how she got to know and became involved with Global Woman, and then the Regional Director. Why she loves it and her own vision and personal perspective for growing Global Woman Club in Antwerp Belgium and connecting globally.

My name is Carin Van Loon. I was born in the Netherlands and am currently living in Antwerp, in Belgium. I decided to move to Antwerp as a consequence of loving this city and going through a ‘happy divorce’ – YES, after 23 years of marriage, the father of my children and I decided to go our separate ways. We have two wonderful daughters, who are my pride and joy.

You may have already heard of the term “multipotentionalite” – well, it describes me perfectly as I have an array of interesting creative pursuits to my name. I’m a person who loves to make good use of what I discover as possibilities for me.

Discovering new possibilities has been an incredible journey, where I have learned so much and gained invaluable insights and strengths. I now gleefully use these in my career as a Life Coach. I adore this job and I am so proud of my clients and the courage they show to tackle the challenges in their lives. I am honoured to watch them grow into who they fully are.

I’m also a Mentor, Trainer, Speaker & Author. I own my own company called Happy in Progress. My biggest client is the Belgian Institute for Adult Education where I get to teach young and ‘seasoned’ adults the first steps in Life Coaching. I love to connect with new people and enjoy learning from their different perspectives.

I’m currently in the process of making my live courses into online courses, so that people all around the world can follow and implement these practical skills in their lives. My most popular course “Power-Up Your Life” helps to expand your awareness of your true self. This international course takes place once a month and it is a two-day practice to assist you in implementing the insights into your life right away. The location is different every month.

Now, the most significant story I have to tell you is of course how I met Mirela Sula and how I came to be the Regional Director of Global Woman Club Antwerp. So, fasten your seatbelts!

I was invited by my dear friend Giovana Vega, to the Gala Dinner for the Inspirational Women Awards in London in early September 2017. I was immediately impressed by Mirela’s ability to connect and inspire people with her down-to-earth life stories and her bubbly enthusiasm.

After that I wanted to know even more about Mirela’s Global Woman Club. I was absolutely blown away by how authentic, helpful and determined these women are. Once I realised there was an opportunity for me to be involved, I was determined to show my commitment to be considered and my efforts to be seen increased a hundred-fold and I attended every single meeting without fail.

A few weeks later, I was at the launch of Global Woman Club Amsterdam and the announcement of Giovana’s position as Regional Director. I was one of the panel speakers and one thing I knew for sure, was that I will be the Regional Director of Global Woman Club in Belgium.

After my address on stage and panel participation, Mirela decided that I would be perfect for the role. We decided to do the one-day launch event in Brussels on 25 November, and then the monthly breakfasts in Antwerp.

I cannot emphasise this enough: If you get the chance to be a panel speaker at one of these events, I highly recommend it – it has increased my visibility enormously. This is a great lesson for many, if you really want something then go for it with more than 100%. Hold on and eventually you will succeed!

The main reason why I wanted to become Regional Director of a Global Woman Club in Belgium, is because I like to connect with, inspire – and be inspired by people. I had been looking for an organisation like this for some time but hadn’t found anything that resonated so profoundly.

I wanted to find a remarkable organisation for female entrepreneurs, one in which you could introduce your company, and would be aided to get that little bit further with your aspirations and be supported in your personal growth; where you could ask for help and where it is not at all ‘bad’ to be different from the others, because, in fact, you are okay exactly as you are, with all your crazy habits!

I found all these things instantly with Global Woman Club and now, as the Regional Director, I can extend that gesture to you “We love you exactly as you are”.

When I speak to other women who are members of Global Woman Club, from the UK, United States, the Netherlands, Albania, Norway, Sweden, France etc. I hear their enthusiasm; I feel their energy and especially their admiration. That is not because we are just a group of women who do something together, no this goes very much further.

Plans are being made, solid partnerships are being built. We motivate one another, support is there and we recognise you for who you are and see your potential. Being with these women feels like that family you never had or the in-laws who accept you with open arms, who love you, cherish you, support you and so much more. And that is the power of the Global Woman Club, we really are connected from the heart, all over the world.

And can you believe, this is just the beginning!? Can you imagine what if we were truly established in every country in this world, what that could do for us and our businesses? As a club, we connect women worldwide, we can do business in any country, we can travel at the expense of our businesses around the world and do not forget there is a Global Woman Club family wherever you go! Wherever you are in the world, your sisters are just a phone call away, and they really want to support you.

I could go on for hours, but I will not do that. Feel for yourself whether it is true, whether you feel at home here, whether you get energy here, whether you want to be friends with these women, or even better if you want them as sisters. If you say yes, then you know what you have to do, then you know which steps to take.
